Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Harm Policy — Non-Negotiable

Decision Helper will not analyze, process, or store any input that involves potential harm to any person (including you yourself) or any animal.

This policy applies unconditionally. It cannot be bypassed by hypothetical framing, academic framing, or any other means.

Covered situations include but are not limited to:

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Decision Helper ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

3. What the Service Does

Decision Helper is a decision-support tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you think through choices. It applies structured decision theory frameworks and asks guided questions to help clarify your thinking. It does not make decisions for you, and its output is not professional advice of any kind — legal, financial, medical, or otherwise.

4. Your Account

You need an email address to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your account secure. We use magic link authentication — no passwords are stored.

5. Payments and Decisions

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

7. Your Data

Your analyses are saved to your account for your own reference. You can delete individual analyses at any time, export all your data as JSON, and delete your entire account and all associated data from your account menu (or by emailing us). We use your email only to send login links and service notifications — no marketing without consent.

We never sell your data or use it to train AI models. To operate the Service, your data is shared only with the processors listed in our Privacy Policy: decision text and interview responses are sent to OpenRouter, which routes them to OpenAI (GPT-4o) or Anthropic (Claude) for analysis; login emails are delivered via Resend; payments are handled by Ko-fi (and, for legacy subscriptions only, LemonSqueezy); and anonymous, cookieless page-view statistics are collected via Plausible.

Automatic redaction. Before your decision text and interview responses are sent to the AI or stored on our servers, we automatically scan for and redact the following types of personally identifying information so they are never transmitted in the clear:

Each match is replaced with a generic placeholder (for example [REDACTED_EMAIL]) so the analysis still makes sense without exposing the underlying value. You don't need to do anything — redaction happens automatically. We still recommend you avoid pasting other sensitive information (full home addresses, credit card numbers, medical record numbers, passwords) since redaction patterns can never be exhaustive.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is." We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated analysis for any particular purpose. Use your own judgment. We are not liable for decisions you make based on output from the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Decision Helper's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you by email for material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
